Emblem

Solidarity Helping Hand’s emblem is a child’s hand with a green diamond in the centre. The orange hand symbolises Solidarity Helping Hand’s involvement in the future of the country’s children.

The green colour of the diamond symbolises growth. The diamond represents a treasure with which the future can be unlocked. The ‘diamond’ that Solidarity Helping Hand wants to give the youth is training. Through good training in scarce and critical skills, any young person in the country can create a future for him- or herself.

The green diamond also signifies Solidarity Helping Hand’s link with the greater Solidarity family, as the green diamond and orange colour are repeated in all of Solidarity’s emblems. The colours also allude to Helping Hand’s connectedness with South Africa, as green or orange features in every important South African flag.
